When a show like HIN rolls into town, there
is always reason to celebrate. What other event
brings with it the absolute top show cars in
the country, hottest import model talent and
the biggest names in the biz? So when HIN Philly
went down this past weekend,
SportCompact.ca was sure to be there to show
Canadians how our American
neighbors party it up, sport compact style!
The Pennsylvania Convention Center underwent
major transformation as
HIN set up their lights, stage and massive vendor
booths. Anybody who
has ever been to an HIN knows that the atmosphere
and overall feel of the show is second to none.
With the main stage at the back, DJ features
Lady Tribe and Tatiana kept the beats going
and the
smiley-faced crowd entertained. The Pepsi b-boy
arena kept the energy high as local breakers
fought vigorously for respect. The Super Street
studio and the Import Tuner model search studios
kept onlookers well focused on the ladies that
lined up to be Americas next top import
model. Finally, Modified Magazines M
Lounge grabbed everybodys attention
with a line-up of all star girls including Cheri
Roberts,
Tila T, Nathalie K and Mia Guzman to mention
a few.
Being an NCCA sanctioned event, the top competitors
in the country made
the trip to Philly to ensure their spots in
the rankings. Bob Mulls Blaupunkt sponsored
Cavalier took home Best of Show
honours followed closely by Jay Laubs
widebody RX-7 from Florida.

Eddie Farcons newly redesigned
candy red carbon-fibre Bimmer, a complete
Veilside boosted 350Z and a Celica front
end PT cruiser all received serious appraise
as well. Quite frankly, the overall quality
of cars was beyond
comprehension. Make sure to take a look
at our coverage of the event
to check out all the other hot rides and
crews that were represented at
the show.
The Hot Import Nights phenomenon is in
no way slowing down. With expansions into
Europe with the introduction of HIN London
and plans to
infiltrate both Japan and South America,
you can be sure that the rides will only
get hotter and even more creative. We
look forward to our next opportunity to
attend an HIN show. Who knows, maybe even
an HIN right here in Canada may be in
the plans?
