[March
5-6-7 2004]
Canada's "all-inclusive" car show took
place at the International Center March 5th, 6th
& 7th with the Performance World Custom Car
& Truck Show. Five immense halls containing
every imaginable type of motorized vehicles guided
spectators through row upon row of Hot Rod, Trucks
and race/track vehicles with the fifth and final
hall hosting the leaders of the new school: Sport
Compact Challenge.
Sport Compact Challenge organizer Edmund Manasan
made sure he saved the best for last, as Hall
5 provided show-goers with a high-octane even
rarely seen in Toronto's already saturated sport
compact show scene. By combining elements of the
Audio Thunder portion of the show with Sport Compact
Challenge, Manasan was able to bring the fifth
and final hall of Performance World to life, thanks
in part to the constant driving bass from the
SPL competition and top-notch show vehicles in
attendance. Picture Perfect Motoring crammed close
to a million dollars worth of machinery into their
20'x40' booth space with a Lamborghini Murcielago,
Mercedes Benz SL500 and the Toronto Raptor's Morris
Peterson's BMW 745.Chris Nankoo's Lowrider S10
made its new and improved debut at Performance
World, taking home three trophies for the weekend.
Team Bridgestone's JDM Subaru Impreza was sporting
Bridgestone's new Praxis Adaptive Air Suspension
System.

CSCS (the Canadian
Sport Compact Series) debuted Canada's first
tube-frame-chassis dragster. CSCS organizer
Kurt Cheekan beamed with pride as he explained
how this tube-chassis-all-motor monster
would set the Canadian drag racing community
on fire.
This year's edition of the Sport Compact
Challenge did an outstanding job of setting
the tone for 2004. Thanks to the hard work
put forth by Edmund Manasa, what began as
an afterthought to a traditional hot rod
show has grown to become one of the event's
main attractions. |
