Hosting an event during Klondike Days
in Edmonton is like setting up a ferris wheel
next door to Disney World, but nevertheless the
BFGoodrich Sport Compact Nights Tour rolled into
the Shaw Convention Centre during E-Town's busiest
weekend of the year.
To ensure that the Edmonton stop on the SCN Tour
didn't go down in flames the team put together
possibly one of its finest productions yet. With
traffic steadily building in the lobby of the
Shaw Conference Centre, the doors opened shortly
after 1:00 p.m., spectators were treated to a
sight unlike any ever seen before in Edmonton.
The only thing overshadowing the massive structure
that was the BFGoodrich booth was the rotating
TRD sign atop their 30-foot-high trussing system
provided by, you guessed it: Toyota Canada. Under
said structure were two TRD supercharged Toyota
Matrix', including John Jadoo's EFD (Edmonton
Fire Department) inspired design, complete with
diamond-plate paint scheme and lighting. The only
thing stealing attention away from Alpine's Civic-Si-R
was the presence of Import Supermodel Francine
Dee.
From the moment she set foot on the grounds of
the Conference Centre, the crowd's energy level
increased tenfold as spectators jostled for position
in hopes of getting a shot of or better yet, with
Francine. During one of Sport Compact Nights'
patented product giveaways, Francine took over
the microphone and the normally subdued Edmonton
crowd went positively rabid while Francine worked
the crowd into a frenzy. Not to be outdone, title
sponsor BFGoodrich featured not one, but two of
Canada's hottest import models, Miss SCN Christine
Isabel and Miss BFGoodrich Chanel Ko. Phoenix
Gold, Vibrant Performance and Sport Compact National
had some of the shows prettiest faces distributing
promotional product and posing for pics as well.

The Crazy Horse gentleman's club sponsored
the lingerie expo and kept the Shaw Centre
well-stocked with pretty faces.
Along with the usual SCN Tour Suspects
like BFGoodrich, A&B Sound, and Visions
Electronics, local sponsors Triple-S Performance,
Custom Culture Airbrush and E-Z Motorsports
rolled hard and deep much to the pleasure
of the hometown crowd. Calgary's finest
were also in attendance as Auto Dream,
Import Adrenaline, Impressions and Speedtech
Racing Development brought some serious
rides and took home serious hardware in
return. When all was said and done, it
was safe to say that fun was had by all
and although Calgary took home two of
the top prizes, hometown boy Eric Paquette
took home Best Of Show with his boosted,
brushed and bass'd out Honda Prelude.
Special thanks go out to local participants
DC5AB.com, E-Z Motorsports and Custom
Culture Airbrush for their continued support
and for making the Edmonton stop of the
BFGoodrich Sport Compact Nights National
Tour such a huge success. Stay tuned as
Team SCP returns to The Scene Of The Crime
with their arrival at the Winnipeg Convention
Centre on July 31.
