For the second consecutive year Exhibition Park
played host to the BFGoodrich Sport Compact Nights
Tour and those that made their way through rain
and fog to get to SCN were not disappointed.
The sport compact craze is growing at a furious
pace and that progress could be seen in the quality
of the rides in Halifax compared to last years
event. The surge in serious show-car competitors
was even enough to draw local legend Serge Legers
Integra back into competition.
The success of last years show also managed
to attract some out-of-province talent like Alp
Soykanders Eagle Talon, Chico Zetinos
Tri-turbo, pickup Golf and Babak Pirmoradis
carbon-fibre S2000. Not to be outdone by the city
slickers, Halifaxs own Elliott Leblanc and
Dale Hubley defended their titles as Best Audi
and Best J-Body, with Leblanc also taking home
the trophy for Best On BFGoodrich Tires. Nova
Scotias VW tuners were very well represented
as Ralf Geitzens European-spec twin-turbod
Golf took home the Castrol Outperformer Award
to go with his Best Golf trophy.

The city of Moncton
was in the house as Team Xtreme brought
home awards for Best Team, Best Integra,
Best JDM, Best Engine and Serge Leger's
2nd Place Best Of Show. When the sun had
set on SCN Halifax, spectators and competitors
alike could be heard making plans for the
sixth and final stop of the BFGoodrich Sport
Compact Nights Tour, happening on Saturday
August 28 at the Moncton Coliseum. Stay
tuned as Team SCP and BFGoodrich go out
with a bang in New Brunswick! |
