[July 17th 2004]
After a long break in between stops on the BFGoodrich Sport Compact Nights Canadian Tour, Team SCP was back doing what they do best as the SCN Tour set up shop in Saskatoon's Prairieland Park. Saskatoon marked the second stop of the SCN Tour and the first time in The 'Stoon, and much to the surprise of the show organizers, vehicles from all over Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba showed up to compete in the Meguiar's Show 'N Shine.

Those who braved the sweltering heat and tornado warnings from Environment Canada (more on that later) were treated to a show unlike any other ever seen in Saskatoon. The Alpine Civic Si-R lived up to its feature-car status, with show-goers spending ample time carefully examining the workmanship and creativity that went into the construction of this one-of-a-kind creation. Title sponsor BFGoodrich stocked their booth with some serious horsepower including eventual Best Of Show winner Nick Chow's Honda Prelude. Steve Austin's 93 RX-7 walked away with a few trophies, including the Castrol Outperformer award and also taking home Best Mazda and 3rd Place Best Of Show.

No show can succeed without the support of the local tuner scene and Saskatoon was no different. The RevTek Tuners, led by Aaron Facca and Colin Schneider, took home Best Crew and Audio Warehouse/Auto Xpressions showed off some of their homegrown demo vehicles. Krazy Kiley's also represented The Stoon with its Alpine-equipped Honda Del Sol and Lambo-doored Honda Civic.

As the night drew to a close, Environment Canada announced a severe weather warning which forced spectators, competitors and organizers into the lobby of Prairieland Park until the proverbial smoke cleared. After an abbreviated trophy ceremony, the party continued at Club Overdrive. Partygoers lived up to the name of the club as the drinking was fast and furious, a fitting end to a wild and crazy show. Next Stop: EDMONTON.
